The Adventures of Molly Murphy

This blog chronicles my move from the idyllic west to a base in Texas, and eventually, to central Germany where I am living and soaking up all of the techno I can handle.

Live from Gothenburg, Sweden...

...the new car is finally here! Just in time for M.'s arrival which is tenatively scheduled for next week, the new car (and that wonderful new car smell!) have arrived. And, as an added bonus, I was able to secure a set of the new EU plates, so we're no longer going to be issued those with the 'USA' designator: they will now have a 'D' for Deutschland instead, which goes a long way to making you less conspicuous around town. (Which is how it should have been from the inception, but I digress...) Anyway, I went down to Heidelberg to the baby Volvo up before the dealership even opened this morning...and took it for it's first venture out onto the autobahn. Verdict:very, very fun! It's a zippy lil' bugger! Just can't wait 'til M. gets to see it, too!

Year One...

It's hard to believe that it was one year ago today that we were married in Heidelberg...it's come and gone so quickly! And though our celebration will be delayed this year, with each passing day I feel luckier and luckier to have M. as my husband. I love you very, very much, M. and Happy Anniversary! See you soon!

As if there was ever any doubt...

Hawks rule! Cyclones drool! Yeaaaah! So, if anyone's printing up "State Champion" t-shirts this year, I'm in. What? What's that you say? Only Iowa State fans do that when they win? That's true, that's true. We don't need no stinkin' t-shirts! Yeeeaaaaaah! Go Hawks!
